Day 272/365 She was like Mary Poppins

One of my early loves was photography - I went through the late 1970s and all of the 1980s shooting everything I could, living in my darkroom, collecting vintage cameras, and reading everything I could find on the great photographers. My favorite medium was black and white, and my favorite photographer was Imogene Cunningham.

As of this week I have a new favorite, Vivian Maier. Her work is incredible - as good as any Ansel Adams or Alfred Stieglitz ....or Imogene Cunningham - but I bet you've never heard of her.

Now you have.

Makes me want to get out the old cameras again.
